Like dogs, cats have been domestic pets for hundreds of years, the ancient Egyptian Cats were sacred to Bast, the Goddess of Love, fertility and joy. Characteristically upright, confident of their strength and presence, they represented the power of the sun to ripen crops through the Sun God Khepri. The aloofness of those cats is still a trait in some cats of today.
